On 6 September 2026, Königsallee will once again become a running track: young talents, amateur runners and world-class runners will compete in the fifth edition of the New Balance KÖ MEILE.
The New Balance KÖ MEILE will bring running to Königsallee for the fifth time on 6 September 2026. Modelled on the Fifth Avenue Mile in New York, Düsseldorf's most famous boulevard will become an officially measured running course, on which the world road record for the mile, which still stands today, was set in 2024 in 3:51.30 minutes.
New this year: an elite 5 km race will complement the event for the first time. Three and a half laps around the Kö-Graben offer spectators world-class moments at close quarters.
In addition to top-class sport, popular sport remains at the heart of the event: under the motto "Düsseldorf läuft Jemeensam", everyone can take part - whether on the mile or the 5 km, whether alone or in a team. For schools there is the "Düsseldorf's fastest school" competition, for companies the Business Run. The REHACARE Inclusion Run is also a permanent fixture. Last year, around 3800 runners of all ages took to the starting line.
