Benrath Palace, in collaboration with Marcus Schäfer Art and Queens Art Galleries, is presenting the cultural highlight ‘The Art of Johnny Depp’ from 30 August to 27 September 2026.
The exhibition features original artworks by Johnny Depp as well as selected editions by the internationally renowned actor and artist. Visitors are thus offered a rare opportunity to discover his multifaceted visual world within the magnificent rooms of Benrath Palace, in an extraordinary historical setting.
His works have been showcased in prestigious exhibitions around the globe and delight art lovers and collectors alike. With ‘The Art of Johnny Depp’, this extraordinary exhibition is now coming to Benrath Palace, bringing the fascinating art of the
world star to Düsseldorf.
Among the highlights of the exhibition is the ‘Five’ edition, which reflects a particularly personal phase in Johnny Depp’s life. The ‘Five’ edition takes on a very personal dimension: it captures the emotional exhaustion Johnny Depp felt in 2021, shortly before he entered the fifth year of a difficult period in his life. As a symbol of this moment, he incorporated a distinctive ‘tally mark’. It is based on a still from a photoshoot for Dior’s ‘Sauvage’ campaign. The artist chose this motif as a tribute to Dior and their loyalty during his darkest hours. Another central motif is the mysterious ‘Bunnyman’ – a figure based on a recurring dream figure that both Johnny Depp and his son Jack
experienced independently of one another. The Bunnyman has evolved into an iconic figure within his artistic universe, presented in various forms.
