The Script – Man In The Arena Tour 2026
The Irish pop-rock icons led by Danny O’Donoghue are set to perform at the Mitsubishi Electric HALLE in November, joining forces with special guest James Morrison to deliver an emotional show packed with anthems, spine-tingling moments and world-famous classics such as “Hall Of Fame” and “Breakeven”.
The Script have made music history not only in their home country of Ireland. The Dublin-based band have scored global smash hits with songs such as “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”, “Hall Of Fame” featuring will.i.am. (The Black Eyed Peas), ‘Breakeven’ and ‘Superheroes’, and have seen all their albums reach number 1 in the Irish charts. The Script have also had five number-one albums in the UK album charts, missing out on the top spot only twice with a number-two placing. Furthermore, the trio won the European Border Breakers Award back in 2009, as well as three Meteor Ireland Music Awards, two World Music Awards and two BRIT Award nominations, and have sold over 20 million records worldwide. Having come to terms with the loss of their founding member Mark Sheehan whilst working on their latest album ‘Satellites’ and having celebrated his musical legacy on a world tour in 2024, The Script will be heading out on tour once again in autumn 2026. As part of the ‘Man In The Arena Tour 2026’, the band will perform at the Zenith in Munich and the Mitsubishi Electric Halle in Düsseldorf. Support will be provided by British singer James Morrison.
The history of The Script dates back to the early 1990s, when Danny O’Donoghue (vocals, piano & guitar) and Mark Sheehan (guitar & vocals) became friends at the age of 12. After spending some time as songwriters and producers in the USA, they returned to Dublin and met Glen Power (drums), whom they recruited for their new band, The Script. They enjoyed huge success right from the start with their first singles “We Cry”, “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “Breakeven (Falling To Pieces)”, which they crowned with their debut album “The Script” in 2008. This was followed by the albums “Science & Faith” (2010), ‘#3’ (2012), ‘No Sound Without Silence’ (2014), ‘Freedom Child’ (2017) and ‘Sunsets & Full Moons’ (2019); alongside hits such as “For The First Time”, “Nothing”, “If You Could See Me Now”, “Superheroes”, “Rain” and “The Last Time”, which brought the band’s ballad-style pop-rock and emotional lyrics to radio stations worldwide. During this time, The Script wrote an unprecedented success story, which was shaken in 2023 by the sudden death of founding member Mark Sheehan. However, rather than disbanding the band, O’Donoghue and Power continued the project together – though no longer as a trio. Since 2024, Benjamin Sargeant – who had been a touring member since the band’s formation – has been a permanent fixture in The Script, who also welcomed Ben Weaver as their new guitarist. This was followed by a support tour as the opening act for P!nk, as well as the ‘Satellites World Tour’, on which the band presented their latest album, ‘Satellites’. The album’s title track – a minimalist pop ballad – was co-written in part by Mark Sheehan, ensuring that the founding member’s life’s work lives on at the heart of the album, transcending his own life. Even though the band will never be the same as it was before, the spirit of the founding member remains ever-present. (Source: prime Entertainment/Mitsubishi Electric HALLE)
