Art & culture in the heart of the city
Art:walk Festival 2026
The Art:walk Festival will be a new cultural festival for Düsseldorf starting in 2026. This new cultural event builds on the well-known concept of Night of the Museums and takes it further. The festival will break new ground: between day and night, museum and stage, indoors and outdoors.
Visit the museum at night, go to the theater during the day—experience more than 50 cultural venues in an unusual way. Over two days, doors and outdoor spaces will open for a colorful kaleidoscope of exhibitions, performances, and productions. Rediscover Düsseldorf and meet people who appreciate art and culture as much as you do. Immerse yourself in Düsseldorf's culture and experience it in all its facets – on stages, in exhibition spaces, or simply in the city's parks and squares.

The aim is to establish the Art:walk Festival as a recurring cultural event in Düsseldorf. In 2026, the festival will launch in its new form for the first time – with the prospect of becoming a permanent fixture in the city's annual cultural calendar.
The festival is a joint city project organized by the state capital Düsseldorf, D.LIVE, Düsseldorf Marketing, Visit Düsseldorf, and the Düsseldorf Cultural Office.
The Art:walk Festival 2026 offers a diverse experience with two thematic focuses:
- Museum Night – classical and contemporary art in museums, exhibition spaces, and open cultural venues
- Stage Day – theater, dance, music, performance, and interactive formats in public spaces
A connecting program of curated walks and gastronomic discoveries will link the venues. Public spaces will become part of the staging: streets, squares, and parks will become cultural stages.
Tickets cannot be returned or exchanged. They are not personalized and can therefore be passed on to others.
The state capital Düsseldorf is located in the heart of Europe and has an excellent infrastructure. Choose your preferred mode of travel – Düsseldorf is easy to reach by all means of transport.
Many of the confirmed Art:walk Festival locations are certified as accessible for all. Further information on accessibility can be found here.
