Rheinbahn offers a dense network of trams, buses and underground trains – ideal for getting to the event area quickly and without having to search for a parking space. Information about travel times during the Christmas market can be found here.
The best stop for getting to Düsseldorf Christmas Market is Heinrich-Heine-Allee (underground lines U70, U75, U76, U77, U78, U79 and bus lines). From here, you can reach the markets in the city centre in just a few minutes on foot.

Park & Ride
Visitors to the Christmas market can use the parking facilities at the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA. Find further information here. The Park & Ride KombiTicket includes a parking ticket for the respective car park and a public transport ticket for the entire Düsseldorf city area. From the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA/Messe Nord stop, the city centre can be reached in just 10 minutes with the U78.

Düsseldorf can be reached from numerous European cities by modern coaches. Thanks to its close proximity to the main railway station, you can reach the Heinrich-Heine-Allee stop (underground lines U70, U75, U76, U77, U78, U79 and bus lines) within a few minutes, which is the best way to get to the Düsseldorf Christmas market.

If you plan to travel by bike, please note the changed routes and closures throughout the Christmas market season.
On the Rhine embankment promenade, bike traffic from “Alter Hafen” northbound has been moved to the adjacent Rathausufer street. Cyclists who want to travel northbound on Königsallee are advised to use Breite Straße. Both the bike path on Steinstraße heading north and the bike paths on Corneliusplatz will not be accessible as usual. Schadowstraße will also be closed to bicycles during this period. Due to construction on Jacobistraße, bicycle traffic in this area will also be rerouted. Detailed information can be found here.
Düsseldorf is located in the middle of one of Europe's densest motorway networks. The city can be reached from all directions via the A3, A 44, A 46, A 52, A 57, A 59 and A 524 motorways. However, we recommend avoiding the event area by car. The Traffic Management Office of the State Capital Düsseldorf provides an information service that offers up-to-date and interesting information about traffic on Düsseldorf's roads.

Please note that certain streets are temporarily closed on selected days. You can find more information here. Throughout the Christmas market season, the direction of traffic on the one-way street Königstraße will be changed. It can be accessed from Königsallee in the direction of Blumenstraße. Mannesmannufer will be closed by barrier from 11 a.m.
Düsseldorf Airport (DUS)
Germany's third-largest airport, Düsseldorf Airport, s an important hub for international air traffic and connects Düsseldorf with approximately 203 destinations worldwide.
The best thing about it is that it is only about a ten-minute drive from the city centre and the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre.

The fully automatic SkyTrain cable car connects the ‘Düsseldorf Airport’ long-distance train station with the terminal.

Onward travel by train
The ‘Düsseldorf Airport’ train station is located on a main axis of European rail traffic. Approximately 300 trains stop here every day: ICE, IC, EC and local trains/S-Bahn. You can reach the main railway station in about 12 minutes with the S11 directly from the terminal.

Onward travel by taxi
The city centre can be reached by taxi in about ten to fifteen minutes, and the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre in about three minutes. Taxis are available in front of the central arrivals hall.
