All Backstreet Boys concerts in Düsseldorf start at 8 pm. 

As a general rule, you should leave large bags at home when attending concerts at the arena. You are allowed to bring bags up to A4 size. Please only bring the essentials, such as your mobile phone, wallet and any medication.

There are no lockers or luggage storage facilities available at the Merkur Spiel-Arena. Please therefore leave larger items at home or at your hotel, or store them at the airport or main station when you arrive. 

As a general rule, you are not allowed to bring your own food or drinks into the arena. Under certain circumstances, such as extreme heat, you are permitted to bring water in a Tetra Pak. Please check the Merkur Spiel-Arena and the organiser’s channels shortly before the concert for further details. 

There are food and drink stalls on the concourses on all levels of the Merkur Spiel-Arena. From the time the doors open until the end of the concert, you can buy food and drink there, which you can usually take with you into the arena itself. 

At the Merkur Spiel-Arena, you can pay in cash, by debit or credit card, via Mobile Pay or similar methods. Please note that there is no ATM on site. 

Seating at the concerts is divided into different categories, including both seats and standing areas. You can find a seating plan on the Merkur Spiel-Arena website for the relevant concert. 

Wheelchair users and people with severe disabilities holding a ‘B’ disability certificate can book tickets via the call centre on the following number: +49 (0)30 - 40 818 824 (local rate). Further information is available from Ticketmaster.

There is no publicly accessible Wi-Fi at the Merkur Spiel-Arena.

We recommend traveling by bike or on foot along the Rhine, or by public transportation. For many events, your ticket also serves as a pass for public transportation in Düsseldorf. You can tell by the corresponding logo on your ticket. You’ll find bike parking next to the roundabout near the Rhine.

You can choose from a range of transport options, some of which will take you as far as Dortmund and Bonn. 

From the main station, the U78 underground line will take you to the Merkur Spiel-Arena. On level -1, board the U78 on platform 1 heading towards Merkur Spiel-Arena/Messe Nord and travel to the terminus, Merkur Spiel-Arena/Messe Nord. 

For concert-goers, car parks P1 and P2 around the Arena are usually available, whilst VIP ticket holders can use multi-storey car park P7. To get there, follow the signs to the Arena and then to P1, P2 or P7. 
From P1 and P2, it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the Arena. Please allow time for the walk when planning your journey and make sure you arrive in good time.

After the concerts, the U78 underground service runs more frequently. You can take it to Heinrich-Heine-Allee station, which is right in the city centre.  
There is also a taxi rank at the arena. You’ll find it right next to the Merkur Spiel-Arena/Messe Nord underground station on Heinz-Ingenstau-Straße.

From the Merkur Spiel-Arena, it takes about 15 minutes to get to the city centre by (underground) train.

Düsseldorf Airport is only about a ten-minute drive from the city centre. The S11 S-Bahn runs directly from the terminal to the main station. Alternatively, you can take the SkyTrain from the terminal to the station Düsseldorf Flughafen and then take the S-Bahn to the main station from there.

From the main station, you can take the underground to the Heinrich-Heine-Allee stop, which is right in the city centre.

Paying by debit or credit card is widespread in Germany, but it is not available everywhere. Small shops, pubs and restaurants in particular often only accept cash. It’s therefore best to always have some cash to hand. 

As card payments aren’t accepted everywhere, it’s best to always carry enough cash with you.

In Düsseldorf, we mainly speak German, but as we’re an international city, you’ll also meet people who speak many other languages. 

In most cases, you’ll get by just fine in English and you’ll always find someone who can help you. The staff at our Tourist-Information also speak many other languages and will be happy to offer you advice and assistance.

Generally speaking, shops in Germany are closed on Sundays. However, kiosks – known as ‘Büdchen’ in Düsseldorf – which sell snacks and drinks, are often open on Sundays, as are petrol stations. Shops at the main station and at the airport are also open on Sundays. 

The main emergency numbers in Germany are 112 for the fire brigade and ambulance service, 110 for the police, and 116117 for the out-of-hours medical service. All of these numbers are free of charge and can be dialled without an area code.
