Your route to the Arena
Getting there
To ensure a stress-free day at the concert, it’s best to leave your car at home or at the Park & Ride car park and travel by public transport or on foot. Please bear in mind that rain, crowded trains or last-minute changes may affect your journey to and from the venue.
The Merkur Spiel-Arena can be reached from the main station and from Heinrich-Heine-Allee via the U78. The journey takes around 15 to 20 minutes. On event days, Rheinbahn increases the frequency of services.
Alternatively, you can take the U79, U80 or bus 730 to the Freiligrathplatz stop. The arena is about a 30-minute walk away.

If you’re staying in the city for a longer period, we recommend the DüsseldorfCard Plus. With this card, you can travel for free on public transport in the surrounding areas. Just like with the DüsseldorfCard, you can travel for free on public transport within Düsseldorf city limits and enjoy free entry and discounts at museums, on city sightseeing tours, boat trips, at the opera, the theatre, variety shows and more. In total, there are over 80 benefits.
From the Old Town, the Rhein-Walk runs almost entirely along the Rhine to the Arena. The route is around six kilometres long and takes about 1 hour 35 minutes to walk. By bike, it takes about half an hour. Along the way, you’ll pass the Rhine promenade, the Fortuna kiosk and the Rheinpark, amongst other things. Bicycle parking spaces are available near the Arena.
There are also two sharing stations right next to the arena. You can park your e-scooter or hire bike there.
Parking at the Arena
Visitors can use car parks P1 and P2. Please note that it takes around 20 minutes to walk to the Arena. Multi-storey car park P7 is available for guests with VIP tickets.
Disabled parking spaces are located in the dedicated car park P2.
Park & Ride car parks offer a seamless transition from car to public transport.
Düsseldorf Airport, in partnership with Rheinbahn, also offers a Park & Ride service. This enables many visitors to find affordable parking at the airport and then travel directly into the city centre by public transport.
The Office for Traffic Management of the City of Düsseldorf provides an information service offering up-to-date and interesting information on traffic on Düsseldorf’s roads.
In addition to car park occupancy levels and traffic forecasts, this includes an up-to-date overview of roadworks within the city.

Düsseldorf Airport (DUS)
Germany's third-largest airport Düsseldorf Airport constitutes an important hub in international air traffic and connects Düsseldorf to more than 203 destinations worldwide.
The best thing is: it's only about a ten-minute drive from the city centre and just three minutes from Düsseldorf's trade-fair grounds!

SkyTrain
The fully automated cabin railway SkyTrain links the long-distance railway station “Düsseldorf Flughafen” with the terminal.
Onward travel by rail
The "Düsseldorf Flughafen" railway station is located at one of Europe’s main rail junctions. Around 300 trains – ICE, IC, EC and local trains/light rail – stop here every day.
Onward travel by bus
Buses stop in front of the main Arrivals hall.
