Step by step
How does the
WelcomeCard work?
When you register at the Citizens' Office, you will receive a paper WelcomeCard with your name and validity date printed on it, as well as a flyer with your login details for the exclusive online area.
If you have registered digitally, you will receive your personal access data for the exclusive online area by post within one month of re-registering. You can then easily use the WelcomeCard discounts via your digital access.
Please keep your flyer in a safe place, as you cannot assign yourself new access data.
Log in at duesseldorf.de/welcomecard with your username and password to activate your WelcomeCard. You will find the login details on your flyer or letter. Once activated, you will see a validity indicator in your digital area that shows you how long your card and the associated discounts are still valid.
In your exclusive WelcomeCard webpage, you will find all the discounts and promotions that you can use with your WelcomeCard.
A special highlight: the state capital of Düsseldorf is giving you a welcome gift of a city tour on the Hop On Hop Off bus. Register for the next tour via your exclusive WelcomeCard webpage and the booking form provided there, and get to know your new home on the red double-decker bus. You can take part in the city tour once, which is why you must provide your user ID for verification purposes when registering.
You can simply show your WelcomeCard to our service partners as proof – either in analogue or digital form.
Analogue: Use the paper card you received at the Citizens' Office.
Digital: Simply show the validity notification in your online area to our service partners on site. It serves as a digital WelcomeCard and confirms that your card is activated and that you are entitled to receive the discount.
Tip: Save the link to your online area directly on the home screen of your smartphone. This way, you will always have your digital WelcomeCard at hand. You will find instructions on how to do this after logging into your online area.
Discounted tickets can only be purchased on site. City tours are excluded from this. These can be booked online at a discounted price.
