Event as part of the Art:walk Festival
A glimpse into places where opera usually remains hidden: In 20-minute guided tours, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein opens the doors to the costume shop, wig shop and stage areas at the Art:walk Festival.
What actually happens behind the scenes of an opera house? At the Art:walk Festival, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein invites you to take part in compact backstage tours that bring otherwise hidden areas of the theatre to life. In 20-minute intervals, you will pass through rooms that are normally closed to the public. The tours offer short, intensive insights into the processes of a large opera company and show how much craftsmanship, organisation and detailed work goes on beyond the limelight. It is precisely the short format that makes it so appealing: focussed, surprising and close to the action. Access is exclusively via the stage entrance. Participation is only possible with tickets, which holders of an Art:walk Festival ticket can obtain at the information stand in front of the opera house. Please note that the guided tours are not barrier-free and capacities are limited. (Source: Art:walk Festival)
