If John Coltrane played with Rage Against The Machine, Billy Cobham jammed with Daft Punk and Amon Tobin remixed songs by Pink Floyd, the result would probably be something pretty close to the music of OZMA.
The five-piece band centred around drummer Stéphane Scharlé is regarded as a key player in modern French jazz and has been touring the world for over 20 years. On nine albums and at countless concerts in over 40 countries on four continents, the explosive quintet presents music that is both accessible and adventurous, merging the energy of rock, the soundscapes of electronics and the freedom of jazz. Bandleader and composer Stéphane Scharlé describes his latest work "The Day We Decided to Live at Night" (2025) as his most personal to date. It is inspired by a dystopian vision in which humanity lives at night to escape an unbearable heat. Without a doubt, Stéphane Scharlé, Édouard Séro-Guillaume, Musina Ébobissé, Adlane Aliouche and Martin Ferreyros will make the lake stage shake! (Source: asphalt Festival gGmbH)
