D.Sports Circus
Speed climbing, 3x3, pole vaulting. With three sporting events in a single weekend, the D.Sports Circus set new standards last year. These will be built upon from 12 to 14 June 2026, when the Circus returns to the banks of the Rhine for its fourth edition.
In 2025, highlights included a German speed climbing record, a Norwegian national pole vault record, and a rematch of the Olympic 3x3 gold medal final from Paris 2024. Action, excitement and top performances from national and international athletes are guaranteed once again in 2026. As in previous years, admission to all events is free.
SPEED CIRCUS – Friday, 12 June: Burgplatz
The weekend kicks off on Friday at 5.00 pm with the speed climbing qualifying rounds. The knockout round begins at 7.30 pm. Among those taking part are local heroes and D.HEROES Franziska Ritter, Sebastian Lucke and Linus Bader. They will face a strong international field of competitors, including top seeds Leander Carmanns (GER) and Yaroslav Tkach (UKR), and are aiming to set personal bests in front of their home crowd.
The 17-metre-high climbing wall will be on Burgplatz all weekend. On Saturday, spectators can cheer on the young competitors before trying their hand at the sport themselves on Sunday. Anyone aged 6 and over can take part in the ‘climbing for all’ session, whether they are beginners or more advanced.
3x3 INNSiDE CIRCUS – Saturday, 13 June: Burgplatz
Saturday is all about fast-paced, physical 3x3 basketball featuring top national and international teams. The INNSiDE 3x3 CIRCUS kicks off at 10.00 am with the group stage and intense matches at the highest level. Among those taking part are the two silver medallists from Paris 2024, Franck Seguela and Jules Rambault, who are playing for Toulouse. Also competing is Denzel Agyemann, who won silver for Germany at the 3x3 World Championships last weekend. In the women’s competition, the line-up includes Luisa Nufer (gold medallist at the 2025 FISU World University Games) and Marianna Byvatov, who is a national team player in both 3x3 and 5-a-side. The semi-finals are scheduled for around 5.45 pm, with the finals following from around 7.40 pm. Under the motto “Sports meets Music”, the artist Thunder Bea will perform before the two finals.
Qualifying matches for the tournament on Saturday, 13 June, will take place the evening before from 5 pm on Burgplatz.
FLIGHT CIRCUS – Sunday, 14 June: Untere Rheinwerft
The CIRCUS weekend concludes with the FLIGHT CIRCUS pole vault event at the Untere Rheinwerft. The women’s event begins at 12.30 pm, followed by the men’s at 3.00 pm. In the men’s field, local hero Bo Kanda Lita Baehre is set to provide some real excitement in front of his home crowd. The field is complemented by top international athletes, including two-time Olympic medallist Chris Nilsen, who is known for his world-class heights. In the women’s event, Switzerland’s Angelika Moser is the favourite.
The day is scheduled to conclude with the men’s medal ceremony at around 5.00 pm. This ensures that spectators will still be able to catch the German men’s national football team’s World Cup opener against Curaçao afterwards.
Admission to all three events is free. (Source: D.Sports)
