The event invites you on a musical journey through time. Swing, jazz and grooves from different decades come together and create a relaxed atmosphere in which musical history can be heard and danced to.
As part of the Art:walk festival, the Stadtmuseum is bringing jazz history to life. Under the motto Swing with - Jazz through the decades, a musical mix unfolds that combines different eras of jazz and transforms the museum space into a living sound space. Selected tracks from different decades show how versatile jazz is and how styles, rhythms and moods have changed over time. The DJ sounds add an informal, open level to the thematic exploration of jazz in the Stadtmuseum. Music is not explained here, but experienced - as atmosphere, as rhythm and as a unifying element. Whether as a short stopover or as a conscious moment to linger: The event invites you to experience jazz history in an immediate, contemporary way - relaxed, accessible and entirely in the spirit of the festival, which sets art and the city in motion.
