Event as part of the Art:walk Festival
The Film Museum is showing a special open-air cinema at the Old Harbour: an analogue projection is shown on a large screen in the open air, accompanied by live music. Film, location and sound combine to create an atmospheric cinema experience by the water.
With the open-air cinema, the Film Museum is moving the cinema outdoors as part of the Art:walk festival - directly to the water basin of the Old Harbour. A temporary cinema space is being created in the open air, in which analogue film projection and live music form a special combination. An analogue projection on a large screen will be deliberately shown, making the original magic of cinema visible. The screenings are accompanied by live music, partly in co-operation with the Clara Schumann Music School. Image and sound unfold together and react to each other, giving each performance its own rhythm and character. The urban space of the Old Harbour becomes part of the experience: water, architecture and evening atmosphere frame the screening and create an open, relaxed atmosphere. The open-air cinema sees itself less as a classic film screening and more as a shared experience between cinema, concert and urban space. (Source: Art:walk Festival)
