Experience the historic Klais-König organ (1753/2011) in the Maxkirche Düsseldorf: Markus Belmann will guide you through its history in an entertaining way - and at the end, all the stops will be pulled out at the musical finale.
A special musical experience centred around the historic Klais König organ (1753/2011) awaits you in the Maxkirche Düsseldorf. Markus Belmann will take you on an entertaining journey through the eventful history and function of this extraordinary instrument. The church is home to the oldest organ case in the state capital. Originally built in 1753 by Christian König Ludwig, the organ was once the largest instrument in the city. After an eventful history and extensive rebuilding, it has been resounding again in impressive old and new splendour since 2011. You will also find out which famous personalities have left their mark on this place - from Napoleon to Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Robert Schumann. During the musical finale, the organ can finally be experienced in its full variety of sounds: then all the stops are pulled out and you can experience the special sound space of the Maxkirche directly.
