Event as part of the Art:walk Festival
On the Day of the Stages, the SchifffahrtMuseum (Shipping Museum) offers an additional date for the postcard workshop from the Museum Night. Here, young and old can select, colour and send "their postcard" from various 150-year-old motifs.
At the end of the 19th century, people sent out artistically designed postcards with views of travel destinations and handwritten greetings. Thanks to new printing techniques, these colourful works of art could be reproduced in large numbers. In this workshop, you can creatively colour historical postcard motifs of Rhine steam navigation with watercolour pencils and brushes and become an artist yourself.
