What do an American singer, a Croatian cellist, a Styrian drummer and a tuba player from Lower Austria have to say about home in song? If it's "The Erlkings", then a whole lot!
With freshly arranged and translated songs by Haydn, Schubert, Schumann and Brahms, they explore what home means to them - from the small village to the big world stage.
This event is part of the Liedstadt weekend, during which Düsseldorf is all about song from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Julian Prégardien and his inquisitive, playful collective of artists will take the songs to the people - in concert halls, churches, art spaces and on the streets of the city - and trace the many homes that lie hidden in the music and in ourselves.
