At Glanz & Relief, RED invites families to try out historical metal art for themselves. Using metal foil, tools and moulds, artworks are created using old craft techniques.
How is lustre created in metal and how can shapes be permanently incorporated into a surface? The " Glanz & Relief " hands-on programme provides practical access to historical metal art. Families can discover how artistic reliefs, decorated book covers or pieces of jewellery were made from metal in earlier times. Using metal foil, simple tools and moulds, the traditional technique of embossing and stamping is made tangible.
