Event as part of the Art:walk Festival
Short guided tours through the exhibition For Ever and Forever When I Move at KIT provide an insight into works by Enya Burger and Teresa Linhard. Between myth and science, multi-layered spaces are created in the underground exhibition space on the Rheinuferpromenade.
The exhibition space is located underground, directly on the Rhine embankment promenade, and is accessible via the meeting point at the glass pavilion next to the KIT café. The special architecture of the location emphasises the exhibition's thematic play with time, depth and transitions. The exhibition brings together works by artists Enya Burger and Teresa Linhard, whose works move between fact and fiction, myth and science. Both develop artistic spaces of the in-between, for which they consciously go far back into historical contexts. Enya Burger uses metallic, laboratory-like constructions to investigate the growth of slime moulds and their mythological interpretation since the 16th century. She uses the slime mould as an artistic medium to visualise networks, adaptability and alternative forms of intelligence. Teresa Linhard, on the other hand, works with textiles and embroidery, which emerge from an examination of historical fabrics and prints. Her works pick up on cultural and political narratives and scrutinise how images of supposedly "foreign" countries have been passed down through generations. (Source: Art:walk Festival)
