Event as part of the Art:walk Festival
Thunder Bae brings art pop and dark electronics to the open-air stage. Between club sound and emotional directness, he creates songs that combine nostalgia, anger and longing - an intense live moment in the Art:walk Festival programme.
Thunder Bae's concert on the open-air stage at the Heinrich Heine Institute sets a striking musical accent as part of the Art:walk festival. The artist combines art pop with dark electronic sounds and creates a sound that consciously moves between club culture and personal expression. The current songs give an insight into the upcoming debut album and revolve around themes such as self-empowerment, longing, anger and loss of control. The result is songs that do not dissolve opposites but allow them to coexist. Emotional directness meets a deliberately staged, almost cinematic atmosphere. This approach also unfolds live in a dense atmosphere: beats, melodies and visual impression intertwine and develop a clear, independent dynamic. The performance is less a classical concert in the narrow sense, but rather an overall experience that combines sound, attitude and presence. In the open setting of the stage, a moment is created that moves between intimacy and energy. Thunder Bae brings a perspective to pop music that picks up on the familiar and shifts it at the same time - powerful, multi-layered and with a clear sense of the ambivalence of modern soundscapes. Thunder Bae is one of the two winners of Bandprofessionalisierung 2026, a funding programme for young musicians and bands run by the Department of Culture. (Source: Art:walk Festival)
