They are siblings in spirit, celebrated stars of the international chamber music scene and are now meeting in Düsseldorf: the multi-award-winning Vision String Quartet from Berlin and the Danish String Quartet.
Their common trademark: they take classical music just as seriously as folk and pop - and vice versa.
They work through the masterpieces with the utmost precision and then bring them to the stage with the groove, energy and nonchalance that they draw from the popular. At the centre of this special evening is Mendelssohn's singular Octet - a work that these eight musicians will take to dimensions that are otherwise only open to the heart in very bright moments. It will be complemented by folk songs and their own pieces, which will show that they are not just two world-class musicians: We are not only hearing two world-class quartets here, but also a band.
You can look forward to an intimate session full of joyful playing and virtuosity, with moments of fragile beauty as well as rousing energy.
