What's this about cartwheeling? About seven hundred years ago, people turned cartwheels to celebrate victory at the Battle of Worringen between Düsseldorf and the Archbishop of Cologne (1288). Today, children will display their skills for "enne Pennig" ("one penny"). Cartwheelers are a lovable symbol of Düsseldorf and the tradition that has survived to this day: The cartwheeling tournament takes place annually. Kids, why don't you try it yourself?!

Art in Düsseldorf? Not just interesting for adults! A visit to the puppet theatre on the Helmholtzstrasse is obligatory for young visitors.
