Take a bow
In the late evening hours, the digital exhibition space "Take a bow" shows a varied programme of time-based works that correspond with current exhibitions as well as cultural events and themes in the city. With "Take a bow", two exhibitions by graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts appear on the 335 square metres of LED screens at Kö-Bogen II for three hours every day.
The exhibitions are projected one after the other. Artist Katharina Keller explores the question of how national belonging and cultural identity are shaped and scrutinised by personal and historical experiences. In her exhibition, artist Hyejin Park shows how social and internal constraints force a young woman into routine movements and apparent external control by her surroundings. Düsseldorf Marketing, which is responsible for the coordination and programme design, is thus transforming Kö-Bogen II and the adjacent Schadowstraße from a highly frequented shopping street during the day into an inspiring cultural venue at night. "Take a bow" thus promotes the dialogue between exhibition space and art in public space and picks up on current exhibitions in Düsseldorf's museums.
