Take a bow
In the late evening hours, the digital exhibition space "Take a bow" shows a varied programme of time-based works that correspond with current exhibitions as well as cultural events and themes in the city. With "Take a bow", "Man Made Men" (2026) by Dominik Geis has been appearing on the 335 square metres of LED screens at Kö-Bogen II for three hours a day since mid-May.
The video collage "Man Made Men" by Dominik Geis shows how images of masculinity are created and have an effect in the media. The work thematises the male body as a projection surface for social ideas of strength, control and desire - but also as a contradictory and fragile construct. On the large-format LED wall, the projection unfolds in dynamic image sequences in public space and makes visible how such images are produced, repeated and internalised. The work scrutinises the stability and power of these media constructions. Düsseldorf Marketing, which is responsible for the coordination and programme design, is thus transforming Kö-Bogen II and the adjacent Schadowstraße from a highly frequented shopping street during the day into an inspiring cultural venue at night. "Take a bow" thus promotes the dialogue between exhibition space and art in public space and picks up on current exhibitions in Düsseldorf's museums.
