"Chopin is a poet of the piano," enthuses Bruce Liu, "there are endless possibilities for playing his music."
And the fact that the Canadian knows how to make the most of these opportunities has been clear ever since his victory at the 2021 Chopin Competition - the starting signal for a stellar international career. So it's no wonder that Frédéric Chopin is also at the centre of Bruce Liu's summer Heinersdorff concert. Here, two Chopin nocturnes together with Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata create a dreamy, nocturnal atmosphere. Maurice Ravel's Alborada del gracioso heralds the dawn with Spanish flair, which playfully awakens in Chopin's virtuoso Impromptus. Finally, Isaac Albéniz's El puerto and Franz Liszt's Rhapsodie espagnole bring the radiant sun of Spain into the concert hall. Let the holiday begin!
