Düsseldorf - a movie city? Yes! No other German city has two Oscar winners who have won a total of three Oscars. The actress Luise Rainer won it in 1937 and 1938 for Best Actress in a Leading Role; the Düsseldorf native and composer Hauschka aka Volker Bertelmann in 2023 for Best Film Score. The first film magazine in Europe was published in Düsseldorf and film distribution was invented. Not to forget: Düsseldorf has been home to the Film Museum for over 30 years. Parts of over 50 series and 80 films for cinema and TV were shot in our city. From Hollywood to Netflix; from ARD to RTL to ZDF. There are plenty of filming locations in Düsseldorf.
